Introduction
Glass House Living has organically grown from a personal journey of Connective Living.
Grass Roots
Born and raised in Suffolk ,I am a true Coastal Girl this is where my heart sings.
Alongside my Mumma years bringing up 3 children, nurturing them into their teens.
For me the freedom of the coast connecting with the natural elements is the key to creativity.
Background
While enjoying Motherhood it opened me to up to a life of authentic living, creating a lifestyle that enhanced our living and in turn our wellbeing, these steps organically made me arrive at what became a large part of my life, balancing home and hearth, I became an Holistic Therapist then onto teaching within in my field for over 20 years.
Was written
I remember as a child changing round my bedroom , grouping colours and collecting stones from our alley way and placing them , organising my mums wardrobe and rearranging her bedroom, collecting flowers from the garden and plonking them in drinking glasses, my teenage years visiting fashion wheel (clothes shop) and rolling up jacket sleeves and tucking the arms into pockets, visiting my grandparents and swishing there curtains behind the radiators ( giggles), as I got older it became obsessive so I put it to good use.
Interior Design
While practising from my home holistic therapies and by night teaching meditation, my home became of great importance , already styled for a peaceful calm family life, it now was becoming a sanctuary where my clients would wish to retreat to.
I would get so lost in creating a place of wellbeing and love , my clients and friends would admire and ask for help to achieve such a space.
Many an afternoon makeover then onto heartfelt interior projects in Suffolk and Norfolk.
Relocation and 2 shops
Mid Thirties and all change! Relocated to the middle of the map (Northamptonshire) during this period I continued practising and purchased my first shop "Namaste House" importing direct and making connections in Nepal, India and Thailand, from prayer flags to singing bowls , sumptuous bedding and beautiful furniture , I soon out grew the space ... My second shop was a double fronted Victorian Build of which became a place of sanctuary for many, I continued Selling beautiful heartfelt homeware and unique items , I added a coffee shop and holistic treatment rooms, after a few years I needed time out, to reconnect and gather my direction.
And here we are
For two years I threw myself into practising and studying the philosophy of Buddhism , to this day it's a grounding element of which I take great comfort by.
I needed this time out, after 24 months of the world stopping I changed direction of which I joined my partners business Guardian Garage Doors.
In July 2022 we had an idea to rebuild and relaunch Guardian after 18 years of trading and build on a Dutch Glass House "Bringing the outside in" giving me a platform to reconnect with my love of Interior Design.
The Dutch Do it Best ... The Hygge Way
